Flavonoids in plate glass leaves (Gardenia jasminoides J. Ellis) can inhibit the cyclooxygenase enzyme, especially cyclooxygenase-2, which plays a role prostaglandin biosynthesis so that process of fever is inhibited. In addition, flavonoids and paracetamol have similar structure. The aim this research was to test syrup extract G. antipyretic effectiveness against male mice (Mus musculus) induced by DPT vaccine. method used experimental research. stages were plant determination, manufacture leaf using maceration with 96% ethanol solvent, phytochemical screening, formulation active substance additives form saccharose, citric acid, grape essence, propylene glycol distilled water. Antipyretic testing carried out vivo, namely measured at initial oral temperature, then injected intramuscularly HB vaccine thigh, two hours after experiencing optimum (above normal temperature), each group treated method, negative control (syrup basis), positive (paracetamol syrup), from dose 1; 3 5 mg / 20gBW. results showed could be formulated into preparations good physical quality terms organoleptic, density, volume transferred pH. mg/20Gbb most effective as an total temperature reduction 2oC.
